Wyld J's College Football Grande Finale
Before, I get started I wanted to apologize to all of my readers, all 5 of you (Thanks, Mom). I have not been the most productive in writing my articles. Really, a career switch, Thanksgiving, and Xbox One are to blame. So, I am sorry. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, it’s time for one more fantastic, in-depth, and in no way Virginia Tech biased article on college football, because it’s Bowl Season and College Football Playoff time! I am pretty sure that the phrase “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” was coined for football and in no way had anything to do with the holidays.
College Playoffs
I love the playoffs and I hope it opens up to an eight team field, but that is neither here or there. Let’s focus on this year. Clemson, Alabama, Michigan State, and Oklahoma have made it in. Clemson and Alabama I had a good feeling of making it in. Michigan State was the big surprise for me (As it was for pretty much everybody). Also, I guess Oklahoma had to show up “Sooner” or later.
So here is how I would like to see it play out; Clemson will win out over Oklahoma. Mainly for two reasons, why will have the Heisman caliber player at QB. Also they have a coach with the greatest first name ever, Dabo. Also, they better win because every College Game Day they had some piece that made me cry.
I really want Michigan State to win over Alabama. I mean...sooooo bad. I know I have said this before but I am tired of watching the open love letter to the SEC that ESPN shows every Saturday. Also, I love how Mark Dantonio has that Spartan program put together. However, I think Alabama will probably win the game.....damn it. That hurt saying that.
So here we have the final game. Clemson versus Alabama. ACC versus SEC. Good versus Evil. Sorry that may of went to far....Good vs “Why is ESPN always up their butt?” I want the dream season to happen for Clemson. Well, it will. Clemson will beat Alabama. Boom! National Championship Prediction!
Beamer’s Finale
Beamer’s final game will be in the Independence Bowl against Tulsa. I cannot express how much I want this to be win. That man deserves to be carried off in victory. To be remembered as a man who not only cared about the Virginia Tech Football team but the entire Virginia Tech community will ultimately be his legacy. This may sound strange coming from the guy predicting he needed to step down soon because I didn’t want to see his good name tarnished by a drawn out decline. He was able to step away graciously, so I am happy. The future of the program looks bright! A win against Tulsa would be the story book ending to a fantastic career.
UVA’s Bowl Game
Whoops, that must of been a typo.
Well, everybody it’s been fun! Thank you again GGR for letting me put my ramblings here for the past few months about college football. Keep on checking on the site because there are a ton of fun articles to read! Until then I will be watching my Hokies struggle through the basketball season but the future is bright for them....more on that later.
Jonathan "Wyld J" Gillespie (yeah, the name eventually stuck) is GGR's college football expert. Be prepared for more from him soon about a cornucopia of other topics.
