Geek Sheets - Sci Fi Centric!
by Steve Monnich, co-founder of the Great Geek Refuge who “HAS TO WARN YOU ABOUT THE FUTURE! ON THE NIGHT HE GOES BACK…”
Hello and welcome to this week’s editions of the Geek Sheets! Actually, if I am being honest, this is next week’s edition of the Geek Sheets and I am the Steve of the future!! I have traveled back in time to deliver these Geek Sheets early in a desperate attempt to halt the tyrannical rule of Mike “Dark Lord of the World and Keeper of All Sadness” Lunsford, because knowing that this article full of Sci-Fi topics will soften his harden heart and usher in the Age of Utopia under the dutiful eye of Mike “King Happy Good Times” Lunsford. Please, share this article with your friends! Listen to the companion podcast on our GGR Pirate Radio network, that delves further into the various topics! The fate of all existence and more importantly my job, may very well depend on my boss liking this!! READ THIS ARTICLE IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!!!
Terminator: Dark Fate Trailer Drops
The brand new trailer of the sixth or third Terminator film (hard to count in series with divergent timeline huh) has finally been release to generally positive reactions. While the trailer itself was something we as fans have seen a million times before to advertise the newest action flick, what set this one apart was the seeds of hope it planted for long time Terminator fans. James Cameron produced and crafted the story for the film, Linda Hamilton has come back to show Sarah Conner’s still got it, the former California Governor will be showing up and most importantly we are pretending the last 3 Terminator films didn’t happen! Ghost Rider Gabriel Luna will be playing a hybrid regular Terminator and liquid metal Terminator, but like a different one than the one in Rise of the Machines. We also have Mackenzie Davis playing a cyborg human trying to decide the definition of humanity, but like a different one than the one in Terminator: Salvation. Hopefully this film cherry picks the best elements from the less than stellar entries into the franchise and wraps them all up into a tightly scripted, well-paced flick.
Star Trek: Picard Trailer Also Drops
A teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Picard series has made its way to the internet, and while it doesn’t provide a complete picture of the story quite yet, it does allow us a picture of the tone of the series. The trailer shows the Picard family vineyard with a voice over implicating some series stuff has gone down. Like the title implies, I believe the show will be more character driven than past Star Trek entries, delving into Picard the man during the various trials and tribulations of his later career, and less of the philosophical science fiction adventuring shows like TNG explored with its dynamic cast. Plus there will be opportunities to sell Picard label wines, so…there’s that!
Disney Finally Admits They Are Making a KOTOR Film
We all kind of knew this would be happening right? In the pantheon of all Star Wars stories out in the world, you would be hard pressed to find an entry more beloved than that of Knights of the Old Republic. While its not “canon” (said with all the snarky, glasses-pushing-up attitude), almost nothing pre-Phantom Menace has been defined. Shreds of plot elements have been hinted at and referenced, but not truly explored. Now information has come out that the script for a KOTOR film is nearly complete, requiring everyone who has ever dressed up as Revan to have to go to the pants store. Time will tell what elements from the games and comic books are included in the new film, but something tells me after the explosive opinions on The Last Jedi and the “meh” box office of Solo, hopefully this gem will not be rushed or mis-managed.
I hope we did it. I hope that we avoided the Judgement Day of the Borg infested Death Star run by Mike the Merciless. If my calculations are correct, and enough people read our articles and listened to our podcasts, the evil alternate future will be erased. My original timeline will be replaced by this new, brighter future and I will fade awa…
Steve Monnich’s time remnant faded from existence but his efforts to bring us the Geek Sheets from the future were not in vain. He saved the timeline. He saved us all. —King Happy Good Times Lunsford
