College Football Week 6 Preview
So week 5 was a rough one....for Hokie fans like me especially. We watched the Pittsburgh defense make the Hokies look about as effective as Demarco Murray now that he's in Philly.
So I apologize for getting back to everybody so late writing this article. It took me a bit to recover this week. But I am back and ready to give you a heads up on some games to watch this weekend.
Virginia Tech vs North Carolina State
It’s going to take everything I can to be positive about this game. I partially blame myself for writing the Beamer article last week for Tech’s downfall last week. All I can say is this really is an absolute must win for Virginia Tech. If there is any hope for them to keep the bowl game streak going, a win is critical in this game. I don’t know much about NC State, but I mean who really does? A win in a prime time game will be crucial for getting the Virginia Tech fans back into this season. They are playing at home and at night. If there was ever a time to get a win, Friday night is it.
Virginia vs Pittsburgh
This will be interesting to see how the Commonwealth Cup match up will look. As we all unfortunately know, Pittsburgh beat Virginia Tech. Will the downward spiral that is UVA continue? I know I say this every week, but as long as Virginia Tech is doing better than UVA, I can’t be too upset. But I am worried that this is the year my nightmare could come true. I have too many friends and family members that won't let me hear the end of it if the Cavs win the Commonwealth Cup.
Miami vs Florida State
Being a big ACC fan, it’s cool to see two Saturday night marquee match-ups featuring our teams. I know what you are all saying, "but Wyld J, Notre Dame isn’t an ACC school." First off, thanks for accepting the Wyld J nickname and using it frequently. Secondly, the Golden Domers have a contract that they play a good portion of games with ACC schools so I consider them an ACC school. Anyways, I never thought I would say this; I want Miami to win. Miami hasn’t been dominating like the days of old. If we want the ACC to start competing against SEC and Big Ten, we need the “U” back. Also, we need Tech not to stink...but that's kind of a given.
There we have it everybody. The games that I will be watching this weekend. There is other games on but, I am not interested. Sorry Alabama. And Michigan vs Northwestern. Sorry Harbaugh.
